Berkeley, California

Berkeley's history as true bastion for folk music makes it the ideal busking destination. Examples include the Berkeley Folk music festival which sparked a renaissance for the Genre during the 1960s, and the volunteer-run Freight & Salvage Coffee House, which carries the tradition to this day by booking folk & traditional music exclusively.

This Bay side university town serves as an excellent detour from the hustle of nearby San Francisco but lies still in the wake of it's majestic skyline. Most BART metro stations are fine places to busk, as well as many of the city's shopping avenues, such as Telegraph, Shattuck or Rock ridge.
